Sarah Salzmann is a Berlin based digital colourist; shooting stills on film in her free time.
After spending three years working as a full time production assistant at Berlin based film production Rekorder, Sarah is equipped with professional experiences throughout every stage of a commercial workflow. From pitching, planning, assisting on set, editing and creating in-house content, Sarah worked her way up to eventually grade jobs for demanding clients such as BMW, before she decided to fully transition into the field of colour grading.
With a Bachelor of arts in Art History & Film Studies, Sarah possesses a solid foundation of film analysis, -theory and -history. Her longstanding experiences as a film photographer made her keen to work with both analogue as well as digital material; also within the realm of restoration and remastering.

Sarah recently graduated from the full-time UP.GRADE program for colourists at Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin.
UP.GRADE - Colouring Tomorrow is a 9-month full-time postgraduate European programme dedicated to the art and science of colour grading. Organised by the German Film- and TV Academy Berlin (DFFB) it began in 2015 and is supported by MEDIA, Arri Germany, Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and Technicolor and is the first programme of it's kind worldwide.
Sarah had the honor the be one of 10 participants from all over the world to take place in UP.GRADE 2017 and to learn from many experts from the Industry such as Harald Brendel (ARRI), Daniele Siragusano (Filmlight), Charles Poynton, Adam Inglis - Colourist, Dirk Meier - Colourist and Head of the Programme.
